Artist of the Month, Anne McCahill
The Arts Center is pleased to feature Anne McCahill as our March Featured Artist. A native of France, the birthplace of many world-renowned artists, Anne came to the U.S. as a Fulbright scholar and later became an American citizen, making Virginia her home. After a 30-year teaching career, she found inspiration in botanical art and earned certification in Botanical Illustration at Lewis Ginter, where she also taught embroidery classes. Her work spans from delicate flower portraits to illuminated letters, landscapes, and the timeless Tree of Life design.

Anne is passionate about preserving the art of needlework as a meaningful and creative tradition. She believes that, even in today’s age of automation, embroidery remains a valuable form of artistic expression—one that brings accomplishment, joy, and a connection to future generations. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced stitcher, Anne encourages creativity and originality in design.
